"Page Demon" Just a little sketch from my student days that I decided recently to punch up in photoshop.
If I were to go back and work on it some more, I might add some contrast by darkening the area around the figure's shoulders and breasts.
Overall, I'm happy with it, although I always invite criticism.

"Batroach" for Charles K. Campbell's Magic Coin novel.
This creature was supposed to embody the sense of vile disgustingness invoked by each of it's amalgamated creatures ( I happen to personally find bats to be cute, but that's beside the point).
The creature had to also be child friendly, so hopefully this makes them wince but doesn't cause nightmares.
Does it come through? You tell me.

Rejected Character design = their loss, my gain, as I love how this turned out.
"Dino-Dog" Creature design for Charles K. Campbell's "Magic Coin" novel, which we ended up putting on the back cover of the first edition. This was an old piece, but overall, I'd change very little today.

"Kathleen Turner vs Micheal Douglass" for The South Magazine. It was hard to find much modern reference of Turner, which ended up being the biggest challenge of this assignment.

Seven Deadly .. ah, that's more like it.

Well, that's a little better (I'd forgotten it was saved as a CMYK color file, for printing purposes). The detail is back, but in some ways, I miss that "blue effect" that the cmyk post generated, it gave it a more lighthearted appearance, as well as a sort of unity of color. I'll have to keep that in mind, should I decide to tinker with this piece any further.
